Z-5500's in to Sony Receiver?

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

About a month ago I bought Logitech z-5500's, and today for christmas, my parents bought me a Sony STR-DG520 Receiver. Well, is their anyway to run my speakers through the receiver? I have quite a few things I would like to run through it, so I couldn't just plug them into the back of the volume control panel thing. What I would like to do its go computer to receiver to speakers. I'm going to need to get a new sound card for that probably but for now it will work.

Anyway, is this even possible? I'm quite the home theater noob.

Thanks

Yea it will work all you need is to run an optical cable to the receiver.

You just need to make sure that the receiver has the correct outputs, so that you can connect it to the z5500. You will need an optical output from the receiver as well as one from the computer. Even then, I don't know if the receiver would still output 5.1, but I assume it should.

May I ask what things do you want to connect to the receiver, and what model receiver is it?

you can either do optical to receiver..... or analog to rca converter..... and the same to the z5500s both fairly cheap also
