Recommend Me An Intel Motherboard.

Thread Starter
Im making my switch over to Intel, and im not 100% on what i should be looking for. so im leaving it up to OCN to help me find a suitable board.

requirements: LGA775, ATX, good overclocking potential, MUST be less than $200CAD SHIPPED. it doesnt need to be SLI ready since i only game at 1280x1024 and dont plan on getting a larger monitor anytime soon.

as you can see, im really open to suggestions. i have one available option for a DFI P35-T2RS for $120.00 shipped (which im quite interested in, unless someone here can tell me why i shouldnt go with it).

help will be greatly appreciated.

p.s: i've already bought an E7200, which is currently on its way here.

gigabyte ud3 ive heard that it is the best sub $200 CAD overclocking board. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128358

The GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P is a good overclocking board for duals and is $40 less than the dfi. Seems like good enough reason to me, the ability to o/c 45nm duals very well and money in pocket.

Edit: got my figures all mixed up, thought that the dfi was $200 for some reason. I guess the ud3p is $40 more.

so which would you say is best? the gigabyte board for nearly 200 shipped, or the DFI one for 120 shipped?

Get the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R as you don't need Crossfire.

Or here as I am not sure who has better shipping prices.

I enjoy my DFI I paid about that much in USD around March. I haven't had any troubles at all with my board, but I think you should still be open to suggestions.

As everyone mentioned, the Gigabyte board is kicking (something) and taking names when it comes to OCing. You can get the -UD3P or the -UD3R. I suggest if you ever think you might get another PCIe card, even if it's not a video card, to get the -UD3P. (Examples: PCIe x4 RAID controller card; Switch to ATI and go CrossFire.)
