q9550 temp advice

Thread Starter
hey guys,
i know some others have had issues with q9550 temps as well,
i was wondering if i could get some advice on what others did about them?

here's what i'm working with..

cpu vtt @ 1.20
fsb @ 375 x 8 @ 3.19ghz
arctic freezer 7 pro for the cpu cooler.
sooo.. my temps idle at around
34-41C (real temp 2.70)
and 60-64C @ testing with OCCPT (via real temp 2.70)

granted, these are better than my initial 70C idle temps when i had the vtt set to 1.45 (forgot to adjust when i switched from an e6600).

anyway.. does this seem typical for a ACfreezer7pro?
and what do people recommend as far as getting these nice 30/50 idle/load temps i'm reading about?

i'm tempted to switch to WCooling, anyone with a similar setup want to spare some advice?

thanks for anything!

Thermalright Ultra Extreme aka the TRUE is the best air cooler atm and is what most people are getting those temps with.

You should be doing better then that with your cooler though at such a small OC, you prob need to reseat and make sure thermal paste application is not too thick or too thin.

Those temps seem fine to me. I idle around 39, and while gaming it barely even goes up. Stress testing I hit 60 a few times. 71 is the max safe for the 9550, so you are fine.

You do know the xigmatek is a real tough lap right? Just want to warn ya. The pipes cause a lot of the grit that is sanded off to get caught in between. Plus I believe the surfaces are pretty flat to begin with.

Post your results if you go ahead with it if you would.

Get a TRUE. My 4 on-die sensors rarely pass 55C, and are usually around 50C, under load.
