Yep its all so very true. I just cant take it anymore nvidia. To many problems. It just hurts to do this but I have no choice now. The main problems is Every week you launch something new!

So, I'm sure you all wondering what happened here?

Well I'm getting rid of the old 260s and since stepup is good im going to step up the the 55nm beasts just to see how it goes.

Also have 2 new other card coming in for folding. I will disclose that when they get here. fine (2x 4870x2)s

So figure I will let you know how this goes.

BTW. Im loving this X58 chipset. FANTASTIC!

Fair enough...

I still can't believe how well watercooling works though.
3 GTX280's... Before watercooling they were idle around 50'c and load 70-80'c, After around 36'c idle and load at 43'c.

It wasn't made clear in your post but I take it you are going to upgrade to 55nm gtx260? If so, I wouldn't mind checking out benchies comparing the older cards to the newer ones.

do you realize how hot the 4800s run with stock cooling, and cooling profile ??

they idle at like 70. The only way to over come this is to manually set the fan speed, which depending on how loud is loud to you, will drop the idle temp to around 40C. when folding at %55 fan speed on a single 4870 i think the temp only went up to 60C.

at that speed the fan is definetly audible.

My 4870x2 idled at around 43c with the fan speed at 35-40% (when I used a torture rack)
