Should I go back to XP, or keep Vista?

Thread Starter
I have the system in my sig.
I am going to format it and 'freshen it up'.
I have some copies of XP in my CD case, I'm wondering if I should switch back to XP?
I don't really want to do a dual boot, because I will probably use one OS alot then the other very rarely.
I'm just thinking maybe I should switch to XP 64 bit or something, IDK. Vista's been okay, I'm formatting because I'm having some slight issues, and its time to clean up the junk.
Backing it up as we speak.
Will XP be any faster? What about newer applications?
Should I go with 64 bit or 32 bit if I got to XP?
I have Home Premium Vista I think.

I would stick with Vista x64 bit, your system is plenty fast for it.

Go to "Computer" on the Start Menu and click on "System Properties" it will tell if you have 64 Bit or not.

Whatever you do, don't go XP x64. It's support is horrible. Stay with Vista, you will love it.

I'd strongly recommend getting 4GB of ram. If you do go back to XP make sure that you check to see if XP x64 supports what you have. From what I've heard XP x64 driver support etc. is slim.

I don't hate it, I've come to like it actually. I even put a watered down version on my old Toshi laptop.
Its just theres a few bugs in my install and a fresh install will do me much better.
I'll see if I can find x64 vista locally.
