Man my buddy is lucky! He got $650 between yesterday and today..and its already GONE! He is SUPER excited for his new computer...hell I am too, and jealous to boot. But were going to build it together so we can both learn. Def want to thank OC for all the solid information on here! As you can see his name is Thomas We both cant believe it! I know he wanted a Q9550, but for his budget we settled for the Q6600....I think he will enjoy the quad of the E8400. And of course the spanking new 55nm GTX 260 Core 216!

All thats left to get is a case, still undecided 900 or 1200, as we can have the 900 for $75 out the door at our local Frys, a copy of Vista 64bit, and a DVD Drive. Man im SUPER excited!

Im assuming you mean the non OC'd version? Everything has been ordered already so a little late But $10 wont matter too much..if I have to ill take him to lunch to justify it haha. Err we are going bowling tomorrow actually, so it does justify it.

hey guys, I'm the one who got the computer lol. I don't mind the extra 10 bucks for the OC'd version because I hate trial and error for OCing the normal version of the 260.

and it doesn't show that the card is the 55nm version, but it is once you follow the link to the card.

I cant belive that people still buying the old Quads, when you get a i7 920 now for $270 and the ddr3 prices are dropping and dropping. Asus has nice board out for $250...

But you have a nice GPU... congrats.

Because thats $620 for motherboard and CPU not $370.

I assume he has gone 775 because of the budget
On its own the i7 motherboard and CPU and RAM would be within the budget but then with Graphics cards and a PSU it would be over budget.
