Thread Starter
My pentium d e2180 2.0ghz stock. I need help to oc it. i can only get to 2.5ghz at 1.34v and it is stable. Mobo is a gigabyte p31-ES3g, bios- award software international version: F4. Im not worried about oc my memory or v card atm. I have air cooling.

Can any one help me find the right combonation to get to about 3.0-3.6ghz
thx in advance

What air cooling are you using? stock cooler or something aftermarket.

It took me 1.5V to get to 3.0 on my E2180.

Its also not a pentium D, Its a Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180

Stock cooling on the E2180 won't get you much. Go ahead and download Orthos: http://www.overclock.net/downloads/138142-orthos.html and see what you get for load temps.

use Core temp for temps ( lmk if you need a link)

If it's the stock cooler then I advise you to not go above 2.6GHz, as that is about the max the chip will run on stock without being too hot.

Also, there is most of the time a FSB wall on boards when using these chips.

You can BSEL mod it to automatically act as a 1066 chip instead of 800 and then try to up your FSB, but on stock cooling I wouldn't go any higher.

I would drop your chip back to stock and wait until you get a new cooler.
