Thread Starter
ok so i see the speed jumping to the normal speed when under prime95 ,so the question is(already spoke with hp support, with no help on this matter) how the heck do u disable speedstep on this laptop which has no setting for such a feature?

EDIT: i mean seriously who makes a laptop and forgets to add options on that feature?

I have similar problem. Try to look at CPU temperature (for example in Core Temp 0.99.4). If your temperature is over 65°C in idle, we have the same problem.
I have a suspicion to heatsink. There might be a problem with heat transfer between CPU and heatsink. Because CPU have 91°C when working and air which going out from PC is quite cold.
Do you resloved this problem?

maybe a bios update will help?

in my bios it's called "inhanced C states".

I havn't had any luck with programs but you can try:
rm clock
NHC
speedswitchxp
crystalcpuid
systool
MSI GT627

This is not software or settings problem I think.
The "underclocking" is protection before thermal junction (TJ).
I looked at colleagues PC and when he has 70°C (in full work) on CPU the outgoing air was very warm.
Does anybody know how this type of heatsink is constructed? Is it concave and filled something which transfers heat? Or how it works?
The picture of heatsink is here
