CPU temp increase after adding a 2nd HDD

This is strange =\\
I added a 2nd hdd today to my setup.. and the cpu temp on startup and after 30mins idle is at 47degrees.. it use to be at 35..

Is this normal? :S

no it isn't normal. When you added the second HDD did you accidentally knock your heatsink around? OR did you have to move your PC, which could of caused your Heatsink to come a little bit loose?

Yea thats true...
Aw man but its really hard to put in the heatsink... and the pressure i have to put on there scared me that the hdd will snap

Any tips on doing this?

Your second HDD may have blocked some airflow. Show us some pics inside your case so we may analyze your system.

OK.. one of the sockets poped out of the cpu fan.
I found an easy way to popit back in without alot of pressure
It smells a bit funny i hope i have not damaged the cpu =[
I will report back with the new cpu temp

Now its hovering ~28.

well the idle temps dropped by 20C so that is a good start. Definetly run orthos or prime95 to stress the cpu and drive your temp up (15min should get you to your max temp) and see if it is below the 72C cpu max that intel recommends. If you are. you are good to go.
