yes dude, here we go. extremes. a.) no one in the world could do that. b.) let's put your child up there and see.
now i just want to ask you a simple question, do you think it's safe to drive?

let's be real, no one is going to say they were doing anything wrong in any report if it's going to get them into trouble (except a few truly honest people).

and no i won't be singing a different tone if someone hits me and injures/kills me. it's called life, there's an inherent risk that you'll die.

if you don't agree that there are people who can do things in this world and there are people who can't do the same things... then there's something wrong with you.

but saying that, i don't talk on the phone or text that often period. so doing either in the car is a rare occurence.

so how far are you willing to take this "protection" that the law affords you? would you support a law that gives the same consequences as say a DUI to someone who falls asleep on the road? what if that person had an undiagnosed case of narcolepsy (where you randomly fall asleep) and ran into someone and killed them?

and what about guns? should we have laws that ban guns?

i'm sorry, but you can make all the laws you want and life won't get any better. it'll just make us all criminals.

Ok, I'ma give it a shot at ripping your analogy, and you, a new arsehole on this one.

1. Your tune will change when you are laid up in a hospital with your legs forming Z's around your neck because some 'tard in an excursion(Or other similarly heavy SUV, there's a million of them out there, choose your favorite) started txting and plowed into your car. Dunno if you've ever seee it, but when a normal car gets hit by one of these Weight-O-Matic SUV's in the door, the seat next to that door is suddenly ramrodded right into the seat adjacent. They become one seat. Transmission tunnels in the way do nothing to prevent this.

2. Falling asleep on the road is, unless you are narcoleptic, your fault. You should be responsible for your actions, whether you were awake or not. IF you crash into someone and kill them, you ought to be put up for vehicular manslaughter, it doesn't matter how you ended up in that crash.

3. Narcoleptics do have a problem falling asleep. It is their condition. However, it's a ***** to prove whether their condition or stress at work caused them to fall asleep. IMO they should be riding shotgun with someone that doesn't have narcolepsy, but that rarely happens. I believe there's drugs out there to help with it, tho. I'd hope there are, there's drugs to make your <insert body part> perform better.

4. Now yer just being defensive. Banning guns because people kill others with them isn't going to stop the criminals from shooting people with them, now is it? But that's for a whole differant thread.

And just incase it hasn't sunk in: Get the hell off my highways unless you put the phone where you can't reach it untill you are stopped.

They did that in July. Now in January, they're banning texting. That's due to some train driver who killed a bunch of people because he was texting while driving (they saw that he sent a text 11s before the accident).

So it's regarding texting only because we already did hands-on talking 6 months ago

You can't protect people from everything. Though I partially agree that this banning is good...I'm also happy I live in Nevada

Thanks for the slight, was expecting it. As for the bolded statement (taken completely out of context--yes)...yes...you sure have.

It's not to protect the 'tards, it's to protect the people they keep hitting.

Now, if you happen to be a texter as well..........
See the above. And if you've almost been hit by 20 or 30 texters, you need to learn to become a defensive driver and pay attention to your surroundings. I have almost gotten into a few accidents myself (all of which were completely out of my control) and I avoided said accidents by being a good driver.

Holding a phone in my hand isn't going to force me to start hitting people.

LMAO. So, trying to operate a GPS device is easier then texting is it?

+1 here. Just because you can't keep your speed, stay in your lane, and obey all traffic laws while texting, talking to a friend in the rear seat, and urinating on the car that's driving next to you, doesn't mean that I can't.

no matter how much you claim, they're not YOUR HIGHWAYS. and i'll drive on them whenever i want.

you sir are a hypocrite if you do anything other than pay attention to the road and controlling the vehicle. and don't come back and say that you don't, because everyone's mind wanders and when it wanders... you're not paying attention to the god damned road.

my bad on the narcolepsy thing, i meant to say that if someone crashed into you and you're an un-diagnosed narcoleptic, should you be held at fault if you were asleep but didn't cause the collision.

you keep thinking i'm going to crash, or have someone else crash into me. are you nostrodamus now? i've avoided more retarded people by being alert on the road. i was on jury duty about a month ago and the criminalist who testified said that the FBI or somebody did a study and found that you do something like 9000 different things while driving. while i don't know the validity of that, i do know that you're already multitasking while driving and if you're eyes are on the road and you're concious of your surroundings, you can add one more thing to that multi-tasking without making it a hazard. no matter what some law says.
