eVGA X58 Testing

Thread Starter
I just ordered this board two seconds ago, and some serious questions came to mind :

1. I can't afford the i7 Just yet, but let's say I get the i7 35 days later (past the 30day refund/exchange) and it arrives DOA since day one, what would newegg do for me?

2. Is there a possible way to test this motherboard with no processor to check functionality?

serious thread.

be safe,

1) Nothing. However, EVGA will provide lifetime warranty as long as you register within 30 days of purchase.
2) No.

Why did you buy it so early? Price will only go down and a newer version might be released by then.

I would still wait for the purchase, something better might come out and you might want that board instead or it might drop in price before you can get your i7.

eVGA is godly when it comes to RMA and Customer Service.

But be advised, companies claim to be pro, but fail in the end.
*cough, gigabyte.*

If I do have to return this board to manufacture, is it a refurbished board, or brand new board?

We all know that Refurbished means it was someon else's problem, and eVGA attempted to fix the problem and is now issuing it back to the stream.

EVGA promises a working motherboard... that maybe new retail, new brownbox, or refurb.

Refurb just means it was a return and EVGA has re-certified it. Most consumer electronic RMA/returns are a result of user error and not faulty parts.

And you still have your warranty on the replacement board even if it is refurb.

Supposedly there is an EVGA X58 FTW board coming out soon, so having the board now means you can step-up when it does come out. Just a thought.

I know from past experience, EVGA has godlike tech support. As soon as you get the board, register it and youll get a lifetime warranty.

You should have bought everything at once, there really isnt a point buying a mobo you cant use.
