I completely forgot to comment this with you. This story happened a while ago, but today I’ve got a new e-mail from them about the same subject. Right after I posted the Huntkey Green Star 450 W review Huntkey contacted me saying that they would like me to take down the review and that they would start advertising on Hardware Secrets.

Well looks like Huntkey is in the sheet now! :swearing:

Use quotes... especially if it is in first-person.

Not surprising from a company that rates most of it's PSUs at peak instead of continuous so they can advertise a higher rated wattage than it's competitors in the same price bracket. I wouldn't be disappointed if Huntkey DIAF like their PSUs.

This is how reviewers get things done with companies like this. You tell the public about their little schemes.

You know, in France there is a website CanardPC (i think you know it, CPU-Z database... ) which has tested some noname PSUs (Heden, LCPower).

Results were bad, very bad:

http://www.canardpc.com/dossier-46-L..._550_Watt.html
http://www.canardpc.com/dossier-39-L..._la_loupe.html

(Just see the video in the 2nd link, no need to speak french, just see the results at the 57th second... )

What happened after ?

Oh... the import companies of those PSU were angry:

http://www.canardpc.com/news-25409-r...mentation.html
http://www.canardpc.com/news-25480-d..._advance_.html

The first threatened to intent a libel suit (defamation) !
The second said "oh you know it's not a high end PSU so do not expect too much but our PSUs comply with European standard, that's enough for us..."

At this time nothing occured: same PSUs in store... and no justice procedure.

If you go further in the article (2nd link) you'll appreciate the 340 microFarad condensator (measured) rebadged as a 470 one...

China made, surprise from Orient...
