Boot problems??

i have a asus p5ne-sli board has been doing great for a month or so now, came home yesterday turned on pc it booted into windows then crashed within 2minutes or so would not boot bios afterwards, let it set untouched 10minutes or so turned it on again it booted to windows then crashed again then would not boot into bios just as the time before??? i booted into windows in safe mode it booted fine and ran i did a system restore for a week earlier when it restarted it wouldnt boot into bios again... walk away kill ten minutes come back and it booted?!?!? is my mobo crapping out on me, bios curruption? any help would be appreciated

EDIT:had another hdd laying so just for testing purposes i took my hdd out installed the other and am currently installing windows on it, has been on and running for 20minutes however when it shuts off and restarts i have to turn the switch on powersupply off manually and back on for bios to boot??

This sounds to me like you need a better power supply. I imagine that, even if your current PSU is in perfect condition, it's just not good enough for your current system. I mean,, everything described here points to the PSU.

But I totally hope that I'm dead wrong and that it's some simple fix.

yeah i helped him put his system together, evga780i e2160@3.5 4g patriot 6400 1000watt psu(forget brand) 74g raptor 2x9800gtx with hopes of a third soon xmas money, its a very nice system

i had that board, worst mistake of my life. i was without a board for almost 2 months because asus couldn't produce something that even worked. let alone reliably. i ditched that board after the 2 rma. (they told me that the brand new board wasn't able to handle an e2180.......)

i just ditched nvidia all together after that point. (it was the time when speculation about the nvidia 9 series and the gt200 fell apart into 9 different variations of the g92 core) so i was like, i don't like nvidia's market schemes. they are to underhanded and moved to an intel board and ati. one of the best decisions i have made.
