780i ftw pentium d processor

hi guys i just got my new board and ram and wanted to try over clocking my pentium d processor sense my new ones has not arrived yet. this is what i got

evga 780i ftw

intel pentium d 2.8ghz dual core

4G of ocz 8000 sli ram 2 2g sticks DDR2 1000MHz CL 5-4-4-15
SLI-Ready XTC Heatspreader
i also have a fan kit on them

xfx 8800gt oc xxx

true heat sink


any idea what settings i should run. im new to this stuff and any info would be great even if its just how to setup the ram to get the best out of the sli side of it

Um....Dont.

That's really all I can say. I'm not sure which D processor you have...but I'm guessing that it is one of the older ones like the D 820...in which case the 780i FTW doesn't appear to support. I know they are both LGA775...but I believe it only supports Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad models.

If you have a new CPU on-the-way...dont bother OC'ing the old D model.

EDIT:
Just checking in with EVGA...it looks like the 780i SLI FTW DOES support EE CPU's and also Pentium CPU's...it doesn't list specifically the D-Models...but I take it back. You will probably be OK.

ya i got it oced at 3.15 right now just wanted to see if it would lol thanks for posting though. this is deff going to be a cool new hobbie
