Ddr3 1600 cas7???

Thread Starter
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227381 according to the specs that kit is running at DDR3 1600 with 7-7-7-24 timings, but voltage is not listed.

A quick trip over to ocztechnology.com supports the specs on newegg and lists them as running at 1.65v. Link: http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...triple_channel

Does anyone have a set of this RAM? How well does it overclock?

Well, the theory is that because the timings are so tight at factory settings, that by relaxing them to the "normal" 9-9-9-28 or similar, you'll be able to bump up the MHz of the memory farther than other kits. In practice, it may be another matter entirely.

"In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they are not."

Because the voltage is so low(and it has to be), I doubt you would be able to increase the mhz much. It might just be my set(1.8v not 1.65v) but I can make the timings alot tighter (7-7-7-20-2t from 9-9-9-24-2t) with more voltage but the higher clocks just won't come at any timings. Anthing over 1600mhz kills all performance gains even with a 2:1 ratio suggesting instability due to higher clocks.

your better off getting 4 x 1gb those ocz OC like crap i had to of those and went back to corsair.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145182

i have 4 sticks of this running at 8-7-7-20-1t, these babys smoke they went str8 to that setting without uping NB and everything. they have a nice coller built in and only 81.00 bucks with and then a 35 mail in rebate puts these at $46.00 you cant beat it i have had them at 7-6-5-20-1t but have been lazy and didnt want to tweak anymore but trust me this ram is awsome and OC's very well!

they even run at 1600 mhz no joke!
