BB pearl 8130 Memory Card

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I got a 8GB patriot MicroSD card for my Blackberry pearl 8130 for xmas.

Plugged it in, copied my pictures and videos and ring tones from my old card onto it, but when i put it in my phone, it doesn't see any of the files that I have on the memory card?

Any ideas?

Do you have a usb cable for your phone?

I have the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 and I just leave the MicroSD card in my phone and transfer stuff via USB cable.

I do that, and i format the card with the phone, then transfer my pictures and stuff onto the card, and it seems like it becomes corrupted because it will say card is unable to be read (on the phone), and if i try to use the camera a warning comes up saying it will save pics to device memory because the media card is not readable.

I have a different phone than you (Google G1) but I have a simlar problem when I have my phone USB plugged and SD card is unmounted (file sharing). Once I mount my SD card my phone can read it again. Try checking your settings for a mounting option?

Definitely for the Pearls, you should go ahead and change the option (I forget where it is located) that your memory card acts as a Storage Device and nothing else.

Its weird though, it has Mass Storage Support set to 'On'.....

I format the card with the phone, i copied like 3 pictures into the proper folder, they stayed there could view them on phone after, took a picture with the camera, it saved it to the memory card fine....

Then i copied like 20 more pictures from my old memory card, then the card becomes corrupt it seems. None of the pictures are viewable, and it says..."media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted". At this point i'm back to square one and have to format again for the card to work. But even when it says this, I can view it fine on the computer and transfer files etc, just messing up with the phone??

Make sure you have OS 4.3.0.71 or greater- I believe thats when they started supported the 8GB cards

1.) Make sure all your goodies are backed up on your PC
2.) Format the card on the cellphone
3.) Retransfer everything back making sure its in the correct folders and the like
