No, it will not. Because I've hit 1600 Mhz FSB with a high PCI-E frequency and been running it for a while without facing any problem. Although I've used a lower multiplier but I broke the limit.

Why do you need to have the pci-e freq so high?

I could hit 1600MHz no probs on my GA-G31M-S2L with PCI-E @ 100.

I cant see any point (other than MAYBE a SLIGHTLY better GPU overclock) in haveing PCI-e @ over 100.

This is a screen shot @ 1560MHz FSB using onboard graphics (so the pci-e is locked to 100)

I would get a shot @ 1600 FSB - But after I killed the mobo and got it back from RMA I sold it.

ITS NOT THE PCI-E THAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK!!

EDIT: I found this old pic (I know this is my G31M coz I have NEVER ran under 436MHz FSB on my P5Q)

I think you didn't use the PCI-E slot. Anyway I'm sure that it was set to "AUTO".

Thought I don't have that motherboard, I've made test with a p5q-e, I raised pci-e to 130 with no hill effect to either the video card or the sata drives. Seems like on my motherboard the stability limit is 137 where bad sata corruption occurs.

Is anyone actually facing problems with data corruption due to UPing PCI-E frequency?

I ll be buying a q6600 soon alongwith an ATI 4850. Will I be able to overclock the q6600 to 3.2 on air on this board?
And how does the G31M-S2L board compare to the GA-P31-ES3G board in terms of stability?
you could possibly do that by following the guides but always watch the temps. and when you talked about air, is that with the stock cooler?
