I plugged in the pins for the power switch and the reset switch. right now i left off the pins for the power LED and the HD(hard drive?) LED.

The voltage plugs werent plugged into any pins on my old setup. But I still cant figure out what to do with the audio plugs. I cant see them causing windows to fail at loading.

What memory are you using? Look up the model and put in the appropriate voltages. Also make sure your frequency and processor voltage looks correct. Try setting first boot device as CD rom instead of hitting F2 and selecting the drive, might have better luck.

All you HAVE to have is the power switch. The audio and HD and power LED's do not matter. What voltage plug? The only one i see for that board is the plugin for the proc on the top left. Also make sure that "hybrid booster" or whatever is turned off.

I looked at your manual. Page 22 at the bottom shows where the audio pins are located and how to install if its hd if its ac97 it shows in the gray paragraph number 2 how to install. Page 23 right after showing you how to install the audio it shows how to install the power, reset, led , ground. If your still having trouble page 13 is your motherboard Number 13 is the system panel header( where you put the reset, power, led, and number 24 is where you put the audio.

I tried matching a few up but the cord doesnt seem to be long enough.

i have to go to work.

As of now. Same thing. starts up, asks i can either hit f2 or f11. I tried every boot option with f11 with no luck. I tried a few different settings with f2. Everything seems to be the same.

As a side note. When it asks me to start windows normally it shows the Microsft windows icon for a second then it restarts .The icon looks dim. When i start windows in safe mdoe or any othe rmode i dont get the windows icon. I might try to call asrock tomorrow if possible. I can take pictures of anything if it helps.

Thank you so far everyone.

Chavez the memory im using is some old Kingston PC3200. I cant pull it out right now i have to leave. I know the ram is in the correct slot. Im worried I bent some pins installing the CPU. I'll re open the socket and check it tomorrow if I have to.

Anyone with suggestions please throw them out. Keep this bumped. I wont be back on until 9:00 am eastern tomorrow.

Not worried about the slot, worried that its not getting enough voltage. Doubtful you bent any pins.

So I'm confused, are you trying to boot the system into windows when you have installed a new motherboard and processor without reformatting? Did you reformat the system yet and now it won't boot up?

Really weird that you would buy a Quad and such a horrible cheap board.

I used to have that board. It's horrible for Overclocking and it's a horrible board all together.

You could have gotten something so much better.

I hope you get the problems sorted though. I had nothing but problems with the board.

You need the jumper on pins 1-2 for normal use, 2-3 to reset the CMOS.
Make sure it is on and on the right pins.

Disregard that, you have a 2 pin CMOS reset, you do not want the jumper on with your motherboard. Sorry.

I wanted to keep my ATI X1950 Pro AGP. I also didn't want to have to buy new memory. This was the most affordable upgrade for me. I really just wanted to get rid of my P4.

Problem sorted out. Thank you everyone.
