E7300 Overclocking with stock cooler attempt

i managed to get to 3.22Ghz Multiplier is 322 x 10.. Rated Fsb is 1289 Mhz.
Tested in OCCT 3.0Beta 6 hours stable, Prime95/Orthos both 2 hours stable. Ran this straight after each program.

Idle Temp Cpu1: 48-49
Idle Temp Cpu2: 43-44

Highest Temp CPU1: 72
Highest Temp CPU2: 69

Vcore: 1.32-1.35
VCore set in bios: 1.3600

my memory thou is a different story..

2x 2GB DDR2 800 = 4GB

Dram Frequency is at 402.5 mhz
Channels: Single
FSBRAM at 4:5
Timings: 5-5-5-15 2T
Volts: 1.8 on each
Memory volts in bios is set in Auto..

is 5-5-5-15 2T enough ? someone said to go 4-4-4 something.. and try to get a 1:1 fsb:dram thing >.< still confused at it.. I am playing games and its very stable.

all other volt settings in bios are auto aside from Vcore.

Should i also be afraid of Rated Fsb Bus speed going almost 1300?

welcome,..

1. Thats quite hot for idle at 3.2Ghz , not mention the load
2. Have you tried to lower ur vcore and see if its stable?
3. Dont know ur rated memeory timming, but 400Mhz 5-5-5-15 is good
4. Dont worry, ur board can handle 2000 more rated fsb

suggest to buy aftermarket cooler for ur cpu
if u want to try 1:1 set it to 8x400 for 3.2

thats for now

Seriously, 1.3v is pretty high for 3.2ghz. Managed to get it on my brothers chip for half the voltage. Usually you can reach 3.6ghz at 1.3~1.35v (I know 5 people who managed to get 400x9 on 1.3ish voltage).

EDIT: Try to play with the NB voltage to see if you can lower your CPU voltage without losing stability. But I've reached 3.2 without upping the NB voltage. Your ram is fine as well, 5-5-5-15 2T are good timings, once you get your CPU stable to increase ram speeds.

Thanks for the replies..

from what i have read and researched, my current idle doesn't seem to be that hot and my max temp should be ok

from: http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...x?sSpec=SLAPB#
Thermal Specification is 74.1°C

from occt/orthos/prime of course we get to this 70C+ but do we really get that high when we normally play games and use the computer? No.. usually only 50-65 even when i play Crysis.

from: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=731792

E7x00: Tcase Max 74c, Stepping M0,TDP 65W, Idle 8W

-Tcase/Tjunction-
--70--/--75--75-- Hot
--65--/--70--70-- Warm
--60--/--65--65-- Safe
--25--/--30--30-- Cool

I guess 51-60 should be fine, thou in BIOS i see my temp at only 44C.

The rated Memory Timing is 5-5-5-18 but i manually changed it to 5-5-5-15 and read some reviews almost all ddr2 800 rams should be fine with 5-5-5-15 timings..

I am not sure how to do 1:1 ratio yet.. What Memory Timing is that ?

I can pretty much go over 3.3ghz but my temp might exceed 72C with stock cooling running the stability test programs.

i set the vcore in bios at 1.3600 because the maximum was 3.625 as what i read from the intel site, i was afraid it might needed more voltage for 3.220 ghz thats why i made it 1.3600 in bios.. maybe i can go lower to 1.34? or 1.35 perhaps.. Lowering Voltage makes it less hot ? right now its very stable.. no crashes at all.

I am afraid to touch any other voltages my NB and SB are all on auto lol

OCCT 2 Hour Graphs no errors:

temps are more to personal preference, but you're right, up to 74c according to intel but would it be nice to have 23c idle and 51c stressed at 4Ghz? , we're just telling that ur oc will be limited by temps

you souldnt touch NB volt up to 400 - 450 wit that board and you only have 2 sticks of RAM set ur vcore as low as 1.2v for 3.2 if not boot, try upping bit by bit then stress with smallfft either wit orthos or prime, this to check if you have enough juice to stabilize ur cpu as smallfft focusing only cpu.

i would never set any voltage on auto when overclocking, of course most of my setting is at stock, but i set it manually.

lower voltage = lower temps

I would just try to lower the vcore so that the temp may get lowed too. Lower it a notch and run so tests. Setting the voltage on the fsb and nb will help get your rig more stable with less Vcore. 1.3v is a good start.

And second you are better off getting an after market cooling soon..

Ahhh... thanks again for the reply..

I just want to know how much i can get with stock cooling, not sure of getting a Market cooler yet.. I don't really overclock that much..

Well my NB/SB Volts are on auto atm.. i am really not sure what to put there.. I'm afraid il put some wrong voltage and destroy my mobo.

If you check the OCCT Graph Vcore is using 1.320 to 1.338 even thou in bios is set at 1.3600.. if i go lower to 1.32 won't it be unstable ?

What volts do u suggest for NB? 1.3V ?

Still confused with Memory Timings.. if i go 1:1 won't i need memory voltage to be like 2v ? currently its on auto and i see it on CPU-Z as 1.8V

If you have 1.36 in bios and seeing 1.33vcore on CPU-Z then that your vdroop. Do you have Loadline Calibration on auto or enable?

Set bios vcore to 1.35 and nb and fsb around 1.3 to 1.35..

Set bios vcore to 1.35 and nb and fsb around 1.3 to 1.35..
I think loadline should be on auto.. the only voltage is changed in bios was for vcore..

btw i might get a Tuniq T-120 like yours xD

EDIT:

I rebooted and set vcore to 1.3500 others still auto ;( confused what to put for nb voltage..
