Gtx 260 Core 216 overclocking 704/1518/1053 stock fan

Thread Starter
on 50% Fan speed I so far got:
704Mhz Core Clock, 1518Mhz Shader Clock, 1053 Memory Clock
86 Degrees C

Should I push it further? and should I adjust the memory clock at all?
I did some research on memory clock and people say that it doesn't make that much of a difference.. but when I adjust the memory clock just by a little Furmark will crash after just 30 seconds.

Oh and is there any way I can replace the stock fan because it is VERY noisy and bothers me

and how would I take a screenie proving overclocks?

Edit: sry didn't read correctly I thought you were talking about your cpu.

I'd say that's pretty good. I couldn't get that with stock cooling. I'm also running stock mem clocks. With water cooling I got them up to 720MHz.

The only way to get a quieter setup is to change the HSF. So you can either get water cooling, or a HR-03 GTX with a quiet fan(I recommend the NF-B9).

My fan is only on 50% I'm pretty sure I can get a lot better if I went to 70% or even 100% but I can't stand the noise (I like quiet)

HR-03 GTX is too expensive.. =| if it was like 40 bucks Ide get it but 69.99? nope lol, and it would be really bulky

So there isn't any way I can just take the stock fan off and stick another quieter one on?

Oh and whats a safe Temperature limit for a GPU. For this card specs state 105C but I'm scared to go to anywhere close to that.. I could boil eggs with that

well bro your wrong , memory does make alot of diffrence , i have oc'ed to 734 / 1468 / 1200 memory , and i got much better preformance from 1000 memory , and yeh with stock fan on 40% i didnt even touch temps 70 on load

keep your cores and shaders at 1:2 , u can boost to 1.2gb safely , over 1.3gb ull need to worry , try it , and increase ur speed fan, because 86 is high imo..

Hi need some help. Stock Clocks 260 Core 216, Tri-SLI, 90 degrees at 100% fan speed after very short amount of time, 2 min and under, using a 120MM fan to exhaust hot air from case and its a thermaltake Xaser VI with side window, not that the window is important lol, im seeing these avg temps and clocks and im thinking WOW, WHERE DID I GO WRONG? 55nm PNY 260 Core 216.
