How to overclock within windows??

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
Hi everyone, i know it is not the best way to overclock anything, but it turns out my bios is so locked that i can change nothing. I tried the legendary ctrl f1, which didnt work, i have downloaded a bios update but havent got the bottle to try it in case its the wrong one, so here we are.

So far, i have tried, clockgen, CPUID, CPUFSB, CPUMSR and cant do anything.
Clockgen shows me some clocks, with no sliders to adjust, CPUID just shows me all my current settings in a kind of table, with no way of changing them, CPUFSB keeps coming up with error reading PLL, and CPUMSR wont even open.

Im seriously stuck. Is anyobody familiar with any of these programs who could tell me whats wrong? Thanks in advance.

SiS = Suckage.

Your motherboard probably just does not have the capability.
Once again...

Usually if your mobo is locked through bios, then you cant do it in windows either.

Sorry about that

I decided to bite the bullet and finally plucked up the courage to flash my bios. And.... Still cannot change anything. I have now got a nice little intel pentium 4 logo on my bios screen though. How useful.
