I pretty much agree, there is no excuse to have dial-up anymore actually the only excuse is if it's not available in your area in that case you probably do live in the desert.

Dial-up cost around $15 and DSL cost $24.95 here. If someone lives in a area with DSL services then there is no excuse to me.

I still have an antenna.

I look outside, and just about everyone has an antenna...

Out of all the people I've visited here (family, friends, yadda yadda) just about everyone uses the antenna...

Oh wait, I do live in a desert island...

There are instructions on-line on how to create your own parabolic antenna of the right curvature to pick up distant stations, or you can buy one.

I don't think the companies have any obligation (nor should they) to make sure you get your free tv, although it behooves them to do so. They have to right to do their cost-benefit analysis and make the decision that fits their situation best.

I agree, but I still find it annoying. It's the same as DSL to me. Before AT&T reduced their maximum acceptable range, the house I live in now would have been eligible for service. They dropped the range shortly before I moved in. Even though the service would have worked fine (my neighbors, who were grandfathered in, still have it) they refused to connect me. AT&T ran fiber down the highway in front of my house like 4 years ago, so I know the line is clean. I guess the bean counters didn't bother to look at what type of line I have.

Oh well, I'll stick with Dish Network and wireless, and broadcast channels and AT&T can kiss it. I'm saving money by not dealing with them anyway
