VGA is an analog only signal. DVI can support digital and analog signals, all newer graphics cards will come with a DVI to VGA adapter if you buy a monitor with no DVI. Digital always has a slightly better picture than VGA. Also if you can afford it I would suggest you just move to a 24" or anything that does 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 because your future proofing yourself for movies and games because thats really where everything is moving in terms of content and stuff.

Yeah I will be pairing it with a 4850 so it should be able to handle it.

Also the biggest TV in my house is only 24" so having a 22" just a few inches from my face will take some getting used to im sure

Not really sure I can afford to hit 24".

Plus to run games on that sort of res would require a better GPU than a 4850 which I'm sure will struggle in the future anyway.

That would be dual-link DVI-D for the new and not so newer cards and monitors. very much worth it for bigger monitors. Doubles the bandwidth from you video card.

TigerDirect, despite what people may say about it, is a great place to buy LCD's for decent prices. My Sceptre X22 cost less than $200 and has great picture quality, color and general vividness.

IMO I would goto a store and pick it up yourself. Alot of companies have a turd policy for dead/stuck pixels. Some people if not most get lucky but if you have a few dead/stuck pixels you cant return it as defective. Further more, in some cases if you are not happy with the LCD you have to pay the shipping fees for a return. Even more the shipping on a monitor is somewhat high as well.

In this case if you pick it up in store and if your not happy, you can just drive back and return it. Also you can view the screens before buying.

I went from a 17in CRT to a 22in WS. I loved the space I got back for my desk. I was able to push my desk closer to the wall because the tube. I have way more desktop space now.

I have to agree w/ Sistum Id that I was very skeptical about getting my LCD from newegg. But luckily, I had one dead pixel, and I read that if you lightly rub them every so often that they could possibly go away. I waited for my monitor get a little warm from gaming and rubbed it a bit and now it's gone . I'm a very happy camper .
