Two 4830s in crossfire out preform the 4870 and 260 if I remember correctly.

Why would you buy two low/mid range cards when you could buy a single high-end card?

I also prefer to just have one card. Also, I'd like to strictly stay at or below 200 if possible. I hear people saying 4870 1gig and would appreciate a link to one for 200 very much. thanks.

Better performance?
Slightly cheaper?

The ONLY downside to it is that it takes up two slots.
So if you get the 4870, in two or more years you could put another one in to enhance your system even more. While if you got dual 4830s you'd need a whole new single card.

You really only get better performance if the game you're playing fully supports crossfire. Also, like you said, it's not very smart buying two low-end cards long-term. You can simply add another later on if you buy the 4870, but you'll need to get a completely new card if you buy two 4830's.

A single 4830 slightly out preforms a 8800gt right?
So two 4830s should out preform two 8800gt.

Two 8800gt beat out the 280 most of the time.

And really, what games DONT support dual GPUs?
Starcraft?
