is my overclock good ?

Thread Starter
Hello when i got my new pc i went to the bios ad set
ci1 off and intel speedstep off , and raised the fsb to 400 (no v changes )
so i will get 9*400 = 3600mhz. I did some 3dmark 06 test and i got 17xxx points
is this good for my setup? and is the voltage good enoug for my overclock. ( i have no time for a long run orthos , but i dident expirience any crashes or whatsoever ).

setup:
E8400 3,6ghz
p5q pro
4gb ddr2 800mhz memory
hd4870X2 2gb
640gb f1 hd
760w corshair psu

case: cooler master 690
cooling: cooler master hyperx z600 + 7 1200rpm blue led fans.

pic of cpu-z:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=470826

And it sys my memory runs on 480mhz , must i change this to 800mhz ( i think so because 3,6ghz = 800mhz memory (not so sure :X))

tems on idle are:
cpu: 30 degrees
core 1: 30 degrees
core 2: 30 degrees

stressed like 50-60 degrees.

If any 1 has some advise or other tings to say, please do so.

That's a great OC on your system, assuming it is stable enough for your satisfaction. In the end, that is all that really matters. Conforming to an arbitrary benchmark is useful for comparing system stability factors, but is just that, arbitrary.

Now you can tweak your memory ratios and timings and try to get as much performance out of those as you are happy with or you can continue to push your CPU until it balks.

Either way, looks good so far, good luck!

You have time to run orthos while you're asleep. I'd do that, but if all seems stable and you're happy with it, definitely a good overclock.

Nice job. I'm pushing 3.8ghz myself at the moment.

Loads are 37C on both cores

so... should i set the fsb:dram ratio manually to 1:1 ? or can i leave it so ?
GR.Spike
And thanks for the fast reactions, i may try some more overclocking later and i will rune tonight 8hour orthos cromacs... cpu stress.

Not bad, not bad at all. I'm sure you push it a ittle more.
Just leave the dram ratio as it as at 1:1.

i overclocked a bit more , ram is now 1:1 and i dident change any voltages:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=471133
tems idle are: 36-39 degrees.
i'll do some orthis later on to see of my 3,8ghz is stable. I wont overclock it further beacuse its my dad's pc and i dont want to f*ck it up.
GR.spike

just did 3dmark 06 1845X points pretty good =) , link: http://service.futuremark.com/home.a...D523FAFC997607

Edit: yesterday i was playing bf2 and it crashed between 1sec to 1 hour whit no error message
so i went to look on google and they say it can be a faulty overclock.
I runned 8 hours ram and cpu stress whit no errors , is my overclock now stable or not?

and my ram is running on 844mhz (stock 800mhz) can that be the problem?
gr.spike

has no one a solution ? =c
