Yes I am but I want more mwaahaaaaa!!!!! & I don't want to waste my 4870 by buying a 4870 x2 so I was wondering if I get just as much power/speed running 2 4870's in crossfire as I would with 1 4870 x2? & I also know if one would have 2 4870 x2's running in crossfire that would be stupid FAST but I don't have 1200 for GPU's. So what do you think??
The difference isnt that much between crossfire 4870's and a 4870x2, if I were I would get the 1 gig Sapphire 4870, or if you really want you could always get a 4870x2 and do tri-fire
EDIT: most games arent optimized for anything over 2 gpu's whether in sli or crossfire, so you wont see a noticeable difference, 4870's in crossfire uses more power than 1 4870x2
EDIT 2: if you really want the 4870x2, i would wait until the price comes down
I would suggest the 4870x2 would be a bit faster since the VRAM is sinked a bit better with a modified bridge (suppose to stop/reduce microstutter) between the GPUs, will create less heat and require less watts.
Also one 4870x2 will take less space in the case and would not get in the way of other MOBO slots like two 4870 would.

actually there is no good quad core vga set up that is good yet. the technogly is not up to par yet. either got with a tri fire(3870 + x2)or cf. most time the cf 4870 proform slightly better.
They're the same with the x2 about 0.5-1fps, ahead probably just luck in the benchmarks I've seen. If you have a 4870 already the best choice would be CF another ^^

btw you probably won't notice any difference, you're running a 17'' res what game can't you max on your 4870?
