Looking for a offline RPG/adventure game. - Page 3

so why did noone mention Bioshock?

it's a hybrid RPG/FPS in the tradition of Fallout 3 (though it's not as open).

honestly, it's the best FPS i have ever played, and i have played a LOT of FPS's... oh, and for $5 on Steam it's ridiculous to not try it.

As someone has already mentioned: Morrowind

Also you should try getting some mods for Oblivion, I've had a lot more fun playing with mods than playing the actual main quest and original content.

You can find some mods at:
http://www.tesnexus.com/
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/

If you don't mind bad graphics then give the Exile games a try, they're quite dated, the gameplay is a bit different to most modern RPGs and you might have to get used to it, but overall I really loved Exile III and it gave me so many hours of fun. You can find the Exile games at: http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/ (Or if you want a *slightly* more modern version try the Avernum games at the same site, however I still prefer the original Exile games.)

My favourite RPG of all time other than Morrowind would have to be Arcanum. It's a great game and if you can find a place to buy it, you'll probably only have to pay a tiny price for it. If you've never played it then I recommend this as your first try above all my other recommendations, it's a really unique game, made by the same people who made the first two Fallout games, but a lot better in my opinion.

Titan Quest, and Titan Quest Immortal throne are hack n slash in the tradition of diablo, and can be had for cheap on steam.
These can be offline, but are more fun IMO if you recruit a friend to play over lan.
