Building Ram Heatsinks

Thread Starter
I have a friend who works at a metal shop, what do you guys think of building ram heatsinks? From what I see, all I need is a 1-2 mm thick (possibly ribbed) sheet of copper that I can bend over and fasten to the ram, with some thermal paste.

Is this a terrible idea?

Note: I also posted this in the "Other hardware mods" forum, if thats against the rules please let me know.

Are you the king of making posts that don't help anyone?
