I wonder if it's a scaling issue with the 3 4870's did you try removing one and seeing if the performance increases. It looks like its a pretty even gain even at like frequencies...
That 3DMark06 run is with 1 4870 @ stock as stated in the OP.

OHH I did not see that.. Then dammmn I can't imagine the score with 1 HD4870x2 and a 4ghz PHII. Maybe in the 19's (since i'm in the 17's 2 3.4GHZ) that would be SWEET

Well here is a quick run @ 4.0GHz and a single 4870 overclocked to get your appetite up:

Ben:Just so everyone knows. I tried to turn on ACC to see if it made any difference in overclock. With ACC the pc will not boot and I had to reset the bios. So there you go. I am not sure if other boards are different or not, but it does not seem to work with mine and Phenom II.

Quote
Since Phenom II processors have Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) goodness built-in, there's no need to enable the feature in the Platinum's BIOS. You'll want to turn it on if you're using an older 65nm Phenom, though.

Hmmm...they have ACC built in, thats good to know. I wonder if the new AM3 boards are going to have that feature in the BIOS.

And with three 4870s (and a little tweaking):

As you can see the scaling from 2-3 is no where near the same as from 1-2.

BenBrown, is those 4870's you have the 512MB versions? If so, how is gaming performance going from 2 to 3?

And a rep+
