Low power graphics card?

Thread Starter
I am upgrading the graphics card in my moms reasonably-old (2006) Dell. It has a pentium D 3ghz processor, so not too bad, but its got a Radeon x600 series GPU with 128mb DDR graphics memory. So I need a more recent card that uses the same amount or less power, as Dell cuts it as close as the can with power supplies. Anyone have any recommendations? preferably with newegg links. thanks in advance, and +rep for helpful answers.

I replaced the card in my old dell which has a p4 and an ATI X600 with a 8600GT and a few case fans and it is still running flawlessly. another option for more performance would probably be the HD4670. make sure her PSU is the 305W model like mine and not something less.

If she isn't gaming and your not either, I would go with anything ATI 2400, 2600, 3450, 3650, 4350, 4550, 4650 or nvidia side 8400gs, 8500gt. If you want some gaming power I would look at like the 4670 or 8600gt/gts(maybe).
