Can't believe the security on steam so that bad.
Steam's security isn't bad at all. Millions of people trust Steam, me included with personal info and credit card numbers and whatnot. If they say they sent an e-mail to the address that the game is associated with then they did just that. First of all go to settings in the Steam window and look what the e-mail address says. If its your e-mail address then chill and the e-mail will be in your inbox soon. If its not your e-mail listed, then you most likely typed it wrong when you created the account, I don't even think its possible to change the e-mail address associated with it, so I HIGHLY doubt anyone jacked your account. All this badmouthing Steam when I'm guessing this will turn out to be a user error...

Actually you can always return it saying that the game doesn't work and they will give you a new copy of the game. A new copy = a new key and there ya go.

edit: Wow its much easier than I thought to change the e-mail account Steam uses, but either way, Steam's security is pretty good and if someone got your Steam password to log in as you and change the e-mail address I guarantee they didn't get it through normal use of Steam.

From the way you misspell everything, I'm going to assume it was a common mistake. Go back like he said above and check the email. If anything it seems like you got way too rushed and carried away when making your account and now you screwed yourself.

If your account was hacked, you most likely wouldn't be able to login anymore, since most of the time the account password is changed right away.

Are you even sure you're using Steam?

Yeah I don't think your steam account was hacked it has happened to me before and you won't be able to log in on it anymore. As for steam support give them a couple days to respond. I had an issue with steam and it took them around 5 days to get around to me. Just have some patience.

When you try to recover the account it doesn't tell you the address that the key is associated with also I only have one steam account so it's not user error and thirdly I was logging in automatically so again I couldn't have logged into the wrong account (an account that doesn't exist) Also if I was spelling the account name wrong then the account wouldn't exist so I couldn't have logged in. So I think we can safely assume I'm logging into the right account.

Well then I honestly don't know what is going on, buddy. I don't think it was hijacked though, because 99% of the time, you wouldn't be able to log in if it was. Hopefully Steam will get back to you soon. It'll probably take a few days.

In the meantime, return the game and say that it didn't work, and they will let you exchange it for another copy. Then, don't open that copy, and once Steam sorts your problems out, just sell the new copy here or Freebie it to someone on here as a gift.
