I'm also finding it hard to believe these temperatures. If they are true then I am very impressed.

They are quite expensive for the larger models I agree but there are other fundamental factors that limit performance.
In trying to keep the unit as compact as possible they have undersized fans and fairly poor radiator design (eg low surface area).
In trying to keep the unit cheap they have used a poorer pump than I would like to see. They have also opted for aluminum for the water block and heat exchangers.
I completely understand why they have chosen these options to remain profitable but its less than ideal. Also, I agree that they know what they are doing, they choose sensible TEC models and undervolt them them in the same way I would based on my own calculations.
This model wasn't really designed for quad core, to do that well you need more TECs and bigger radiator/fans.
