The 55nm GTX 260 216 Overclock Thread - Page 43

post #421 of 984
Anyone heard anything about full cover blocks for our cards? I've heard a bit about blocks for 285/295, but not us. I really want a full cover block so I can really have some fun when evga releases that voltage adjuster.

I have a 55nm vanilla GTX 260 216 on an EP31-DS3L mobo. Problem is that card runs at x1 instead of x16 . Can someone on this thread with a PCI-E 2.0 compliant mobo please edit and save their GTX 260 216 55nm bios(vanilla & SSC - both preferably) as a PCI-E Gen 1/1.1 bios and upload/mail them.

This can be done by using NiBiToR 4.7. Run NiBiToR and then follow these steps
1) Tools---->Read Device---->Select Device---->OK
2) Tools---->Read Into NiBiToR
3) Tools---->Set PCIE Gen---->Set Gen 1
4) Tools---->Read Into File---->Save As "XYZ.rom"

Thanks for all your help

I think its enough. Seems like a waste for an already cool running card. If you want your card SUPER quiete then get it but if you dont mind a little fan noise then dont bother.

I would wait till the EVGA voltage tuner is released and see how that works. The added voltage will most likely increase heat and MAY need an aftermarket cooler.
