The 55nm GTX 260 216 Overclock Thread - Page 81

I just got an EVGA GTX260-216-55 Vanilla card on Saturday. This card replaces my PNY 8600GT. The original clocks are 626/1350/1053. I still need to download the program to check my voltage. I have already overclocked to 720/1548/1107 Fan at 100% (stable while gaming, I have yet to check with ATI). But I have two questions about this card

1) I play Battlefield 2 and with my old card I was around 95fps. Now with the same settings and the GXT260 I'm still at the same 95. So is my processor now holding me back or will the card just shine at higher graphics levels?

2) My card idles at 58F (@stock clocks). Is this too hot. It is jammed in a mATX case. While gaming and overclocking I haven't been over 62, but I do run the fan at 100%.

Card will do better at higher graphics, but you do realize your monitor cannot display anything above 60fps, right?

LOL. I'm showing how much of a noob I am. 60fps = 60Hz, right. Well I'll crank up the settings. I think I was getting around 70fps on all high, but I got a big drop in frames in a high action area.

Right guys I've hit my limit I think, gone from standard clocks to;

738Mhz core

1476Mhz Shaders

2256Mhz memory

Tested for 31 mins with ATI Tool with no errors.

Max temp was 62c with fan speed at 65%

How come everyone else can get over 1500 shaders but me??

can you get higher stable shaders with the core and mem at stock?

I haven't seen anyone get over 15000 shaders but 1500, most can do that. You do have a pretty high core though. Try backing your core down, and see whether your card is being voltage choked. If it turns out to be that, there's nothing you can do my card will happily run 700/1700/2340 but the temps are higher than i like so i let her run at 650/1620/2200

Right guys i reduced the core clock down to stock but with no avail, the shaders still max out at 1476Mhz

Managed to get my memory running rock solid stable at 2376Mhz and at that clock speed it gives my card 134.4Gb/s memory bandwidth

Core clock is still at 738Mhz aswel

Suspose its not bad considering the card does come with 100% stock clocks so i cant really moan at the speed boost

Do I really need to NiBiTor to flash my setting? or I should keep my overclock setting using Evga precision?

Dang, looks like you're chip limited then.
