Newegg prices rising? - Page 2

I bought the Rampage Formula last spring and it is only $11 cheaper now. They have an open box one for $149 which is a steal. Must be in demand still.

Not only that but their open box motherboard section is really dismal compared to past.

Yeah the thunderbird haha! It's been a while (~20 years) so I think I'm allowed to be just a bit rusty on my geography. Plus I was like, uh, eight years old at the time.

There just don't seem to be as many 4850 deals to be hadas opposed to just a couple weeks ago.
The 55m GTX260 had a discount of $30.00 which is over now. The price hasn't changed at all...

Yeah, it was the holidays. People started looking for deals earlier this year, so that's why from about August to December, the prices saw really decent drops.

between the economy being in the toilet and people not spending, they probably raised their prices to make up for a lose of money.

One thing i have noticed is that they dont have nearly as many cases w/ free shipping anymore either.

I know i sound like a bastard saying this, but as a brit who can't use newegg I'm pleased because you get stuff at about 30% off on average.

I'm not really happy about it just wanted to post

Now that Christmas is over they are recouping, I noticed it with the 9800GT I got it for $115 with rebate $95 now it's $123 no rebate.

I bet the guy that has to change the prices loves his job.

Wouldn't it be a shame if he "forgot" a zero and I got a 4870 x2 for 50 dollars.

We don't get 30% off, it is your retailers that are artificially inflating the price on you. Some of it is due to smaller purchase quantities and taxes, but its mainly just them taking advantage of you.
