Yeah, works well with a Megahalem atleast. The only heatsink-related issue I have is I can't fully mount the pull fan in my push-pull config, because it hits the vrm heatsink.

Beats my luck Fr0st, the backplate cutout doesn't match the Classified, so I may have to enlarge it, or just remove the mobo... which defeats the purpose of the cutout.

This case is wonderful, that's for sure. It's a blank slate for modding, it's an understated stylish monolith. It fits almost everything I wanted from a case, except it doesn't have 8 or more expansion slots and doesn't have an all black interior.

Corsair 800D is a nice case, but it's too heavy and costs too much for what it is.
You plan on moving one of these behemoths around much? Weight is irrelevant to me. However I would be interested to know if anyone has mounted some casters/castors(?) on the 840.

Plasti-dip? Is that it's proper name? If it has no effect I'm definitely trying it.

Anyone have any complaints in terms of video card cooling with the 840?

I certainly don't, but then again I only run with one card.

Wow, I find that ridiculous since the cutout on the 840's mobo tray is GIGANTIC. I don't know who's to blame, the mobo manufacturers or CoolerMaster for messing the location up so much >_<
Thanks for the heads up though, I was contemplating doing the EVGA stepup program to the Classified.

I had some complaints when I was running two 4890's in crossfire. The 4890's I had (Sapphire TOXIC editions) cooled great, but they didn't exhaust out the back of the case, so a lot of hot air was just kicking around inside my case and wasnt properly vented. Adding the GPU cooler box on the back helped a lot, but it made the GPU fans sound noticeably louder (they were working harder to spin, since there was less air).

Overall, pretty good however.

Hi, new guy here. Count me in as another person who joined overclock.net so I can be part of this club. I've had this case for about a week now and have been pretty happy so far, especially with some of the ideas I've picked up on here. Once I get it sort of dialed in I'll be sure to post some pics. I don't plan on doing any major modding but I did put a shroud under the fan in the bottom of the case and it does help. The other minor mod I did was to put a 120 mm fan for intake in the 3.5" bay. I had to remove the rails to make it fit and I also "borrowed" 3 bay covers from my now retired Element S to cover the intake on the front. The nice thing about these bay covers is that they each have a removable filter. Maybe not as elegant as some other stuff I could get but it was free and sitting in my garage.

In regards to the GPU cooler box I have it installed and it working really good for me. My GPU setup is 2 BFG GTX 275 OCs, each with a Thermalright T-rad2 GTX cooler. Since they exhaust into the case the cooler box has been a great help. When I put my hand near the exhaust of that thing there's a pretty good amount of heat coming out so I'm pretty sure it's doing it's job.

Add me to the club!!! Had this case for about 6 months now and my only gripe is the cable management.....the backplate for the motherboard has a large area to hide cables but i still cant seem to get it right lol
post #1038 of 4392
Want to know the secret to good cable management? Zip ties. Seriously - just ziptie the HELL out of those cables. Zip tie them to anything, as long as they are in straight orientations (like, don't have them all scraggly and loose, going every which way, rather zip tie them into straight lines and 90* turns.)

Thank goodness I have a Home Depot nearby. I went there recently and bought a bunch of 4 and 8 inch zip ties and even bought some anchors for them. The nice thing is that they are all black.

Home Depot sells zip tie anchors? That's awesome. I need to buy some, but I didn't feel like ordering them online - there's a Home Depot right near my house. I never knew they had anchors, haha.
