[Official] Cooler Master ATCS 840 Owners Club - Page 137

I've thought about this as well when I bought my eVGA E760...you shouldn't have any trouble putting the motherboard in the ATCS 840 as it is a standard ATX motherboard. However, you will be limited to one position setup for TRI-SLI/CrossFire and Quad-SLI/CrossFire being out of the question for the ATC 840 since it does not come with an eighth expansion slot. If you don't plan on doing those types of setups...then you should be good to go with your new case and motherboard. Having the secondary TRI-GPU setup (which the ATCS 840 can't allow) just allows people to use the extra PCI-E 1x slot / PCI slot for sound cards, controller cards, or any other extra peripherals.

Correct, aluminum doesn't rust.

I use a microfiber cloth that I lightly spray with a water bottle of water. Gets the job done. It'll look streaky for a couple of seconds after you do it, but it goes away.

pvp309rcp:

Thank you for the info. So, basically... I would only be able to do 2x 5870 Crossfire (or 2x GTX 480 SLI) but I wouldn't be able to do TRI or QUAD? I figured I wouldn't be able to do Quad but I thought with 7 expansion slots the ATCS 840 has.... I would be able to TRI-GPU. It's not that big a deal because I am probably only going to do a 2x setup.

Thanks again!

If you mount the PSU on the top instead of the bottom, I see no reason why you can't do a tri-fire or tri-sli setup...

Quick question, but I think I already know the answer:

Without mods, this case can hold a 3 x 120mm RAD up top?

It kind of depends on the rad, but yes.
You can also fit a 2x120mm rad vertically on the HDD cage, I think.

See sig.

Quad can fix without any mods.
