Anybody have any tips on keeping dust out of this case? It attracts dust like no other. I turned one of the top fans off but that actually ended up letting more dust in. Would it be better to run 2 120mm's for the top fans? I was also thinking about putting panny hose around the top fan grill. Maybe that would do something. Thanks for any help.

Ive had almost a year with this case and as far as dust in concerned this has one the best cases i have ever had. I used the Spedo case before this, and that thing was bad news for dust even though it was filtered. The trick is going to be the intake fans bringing the dust in, and this case has it covered. Just make sure you keep the filters clean, and your set.

Keep in mind i live in Arizona

The key to having a dust free case is to maintain positive pressure = more air in than air out. There have been several discussions in this thread; the last about two-three weeks ago.

The only way to achieve this is to make the case a positive pressure case. By design, this case is negative pressure which lets air come through all the cracks in the case and not just the intake fans. The only way to fix it is to make the case positive pressure, so that only the intake fans will accumulate dust. You wont get the same cooling performance with positive pressure, but you will be able to control dust a little bit better.

How you achieve positive pressure depends on what fans, controllers, and setup your using. Simply by changing the top fans to intake should make the case a positive pressure case.

You have to earn them the old-fashioned way. Either by uttering something wise, accomplishing an astounding feat, or doing a kind deed.

As you can see from my rep, I too am far away from these ideals.

and so am I...

Anyway, I realized me and my neighbor both ran out of Shin Etsu X23 after I pulled the CPU out. Good thing the venomous cooler comes with a CF2 tube, I've just put that last weekend but wasn't able to run any tests. Today, I cut off all the molexes from the fan controller cables and soldered the 3 pin ones. The case still has both side panels open for the moment. Thought I'd quickly check the temps with the newly applied CF2. Here's a screenshot at 100% load running Prime95 with large FFTs. It was doind 29-30 on idle. Kinda what I wanted to achieve with Shin Etsu.

Will grab the temps tomorrow when I close both side panels. If there isn't much difference, I'll leave the CF2 in there and use Shin Etsu some other time.

Good Night Fellas

I am still very skeptical of the whole positive negative pressure argument. The ATCS 840 is a huge case with a ton of vents and holes in the back. In order to maintain a positive pressure you would have to either have an enormousness amount of intake air, or you would need to seal all the holes and cracks which are not meant to exhaust or intake air. Has anyone tried to actually record pressure measurements to see if there is ever pressure other than ATM in the case?

I'm a little curios to see what everyone's after-cable-management setup looks like when you remove the right side panel. I can call my cable management complete but don't seem to be happy with my result on that side of the case. Will Edit this post and upload a pic shortly.

Please post if you have pics of the same.
Thanks

EDIT: As promised, here is how my right side looks like. What a royal pain in the butt to even get this far
