The LianLi is very good! I only prefer the Silverstone because it is similar to the front panel of the ATCS that cover the front 230mm fan!

Now I know why the 840 does not come with a windowed side panel. It looks much better without it.

Well it really depends on how you organize your cable management and some extra final touches you add in. I already knew I didn't want a side panel window for my new case which is one reason why I got the ATCS 840...especially since looking at this thing wouldn't look that attractive...still would want a side fan though (no experience with panel modding).

KShirza is a very great example...

I might actually get rid of my air tube and replace those two Sanyo Denki 9G1212H101 behind the hard drive cage with two more Sanyo Denki 9SG1212G101 and move as much air as I can through the whole case. I just hope my PSU can take it...6x 48watt fans

Just wondering, usually puttin 2 fans on the HDD cage AND adding a bottom fan on the bottom intake, wouldn't that cause lots of air turbulence, an cause bad airflow or something??

Also how much of a temp reduction do u see with an without the rear GPU duct installed?

In the test I made with my configuration, no difference at all.... probably because the Arctic Cooling GPU cooler doesn't blow the air outside the case, like the stock cooler does!

The ATCS 840 only comes with a 230mm front intake fan, dual 230mm top exhaust fans, and a 120mm rear fan. The 230mm fans are rated at 700 RPM/110 CFM/19 DBA, while the 120mm fan is rated at 1200 RPM/45 CFM/17 DBA. I highly suggest changing out the stock 120mm fan. You should also disable the top 230mm fan closest to the drive bay cage, or make it an intake since it draws air out of the case prematurely.

By boredgunner, shot with Canon PowerShot A590 IS at 2009-05-23

I also suggest adding a 120mm bottom intake fan, dual 120mm intake fans in the HDD cage, and a 120mm fan in the external air duct, which really helps keep GPU temps down. If you want you can do what I did - mod a 120mm fan onto the motherboard tray (but make it lower and closer to the GPUs than I did). I did this buy using double sided tape and a zip tie.

By boredgunner, shot with Canon PowerShot A590 IS at 2009-06-05

You can also get a Scythe Kama Bay if you have less than 3 optical drives, since it takes up 3 slots. I suggest replacing the fan with a faster fan, the included one is only 800 RPM and like 33 CFM I think. You can then mod a fan to the 5.25" bay for a push/pull effect. That is an easy mod to do. Simply screw the fan into the included fan brackets, and zip tie the brackets to the cage.

By boredgunner, shot with Canon PowerShot A590 IS at 2009-06-01

The dark 120mm fans shown are the COOLER MASTER R4 series. They have a 2000 RPM/90 CFM rating, and stay surprisingly quiet. I have three with blue LEDs, one on the MOBO tray, one on the 5.25" cage, and one on the rear. I have two more with no LEDs (they all look the same when not on), one in the Scythe Kama bay and one in the external air duct.

Here are the fans.

By boredgunner, shot with Canon PowerShot A590 IS at 2009-06-04

The ATCS 840 is a much better case than the Antec 1200, except for airflow, but it is still good fir airflow unlike other cases that share the same style (Silverstone TJ07, the upcoming Corsair thing). You can really mess with the airflow in the case, like what I said above. You can also replace the top 230mm fans with up to three 120mm fans. But some of the modding isn't even necessary. Simply disabling that top 230mm fan closest to the drive bay cage (or making it an intake), adding a bottom 120mm intake and two 120mm intakes in the HDD cage (mounts are already there), and adding a 120mm exhaust fan into the external air duct is just fine.

Oh, Chunky_Chimp, I found that Cosmos fan cover available in Europe! Good news for Europeans, sadly I don't live in Europe

Hey I just dug up this post from page 17.

Just wondering with all them fans he has in his case, the noise must be pretty bad.
Is it a worth the compromise?

I was thinking of adding a Scythe kama Bay and 2x 1000RPM silent fans to the HDD cage.
Is this enough for positive pressure? Or do i need another fan on the bottom intake??

Also wont the bottom intake air flow cause interference with the airflow from the HDD cage fans an thus cause turbulence an whatever? Is this okay?

If you have a fan controller or 2 then it's not bad at all.

@Sad Soul: in my system I have a total of 13 fans:

3 x 230mm Cooler Master (2 top, 1 front)
3 x 92mm Arctic Cooling on GPU Cooler
5 x 120mm Cooler Master R4
1 x 120mm Zalman ZM-F3
1 x 120mm Silvestone (don't remember which one)

Except the 230mm ones, the 92mm ones and the Silverstone one, all the others are controlled by fan controller: I can assure you that the noise is very very low, but the air flow is quite huge! Or, if you don't want to buy a rheobus, try to buy very silent fans: from my experience, the best are Noiseblocker and Scythe (I don't use them simply because they aren't avaiable with led....)

For the positive/negative pressure I don't know, wait for someone else!
For the turbolence, I think there is not problem at all!

Chunky_Chimp: please add me!
