Uh, yes, it seemed like a good idea. They're very comparable cases, and Thermaltake is very underrated, especially in terms of build quality and features. The Spedo is one of the most feature-rich chassis you can buy and makes the ATCS 840 look like an old Ford without an FM stereo.

Plus, it's really moddable, and its airflow is much, much better. In general, I think the Spedo is the better case.

I was just getting tired of the same ol'; the only thing good about the ATCS 840 is it's shiny and has lots of aluminum. But it's not expandable, and it just doesn't seem to compare to other cases.

More moddable than an ATCS? Uh... don't think so. Airflow can't be better, as the front intakes on the Spedo are blocked by the severely-restrictive hard drive trays, and the side panel fan blocks tall tower coolers from being installed (and is very loud at full speed).

I don't see any features on the BASIC Spedo making it better than any high-end Cooler Master, much less the Spedo Advance.

looks like thermaltakes "stacker" still a big case but definitely not as deep as the 840. im not a huge fan of thermaltake in general but that case is designed well. minus the side window with the fan..
I wouldn't give up my 840 for all the Thermaltakes ever made.

This case is pretty typical Thermaltake. They use very thin, high quality metal, and fans with big, heavily contoured fins, and lots and lots of holes punched out to give it the airflow. You can't beat it when it comes to performance; it's like a fine sports car, and the ATCS 840 is like a big fat bowldozer.

I mean, I feel like i can do so much more now. I can simply pull of the mesh and paint it and it will look so pretty. and plus it has a window or at least side holes, something the ATCS 840 is severly handicapped by. It's amazing how many mistakes Cooler Master makes but it seems they got it wrong with the ATCS 840

It's personal preference...and I can see why it caught your eye based on its features...

However, plain aluminum/steel towers seem to be my personal favorite now. I'm also thinking about getting rid of my two red 12" cold cathodes (all I did was transfer it from my old red LED case) since it serves no purpose besides shooting light out of the open holes/crevices from my ATCS 840, providing some lighting to see my hardware, and additional wires to manage. It might be time to say goodbye to the red stuff...once my new hardware arrives...

just got the case today-refurb from the cm store. can't wait to put a custom loop in it, but i wish the side panels were sturdier and easier to get back on. that, and i'm petrified that i'll scratch up the case every time i touch it.

Scratches come off easily. But yes they're cheaply built and a bit of a pain to work with, mainly the right one if you attempt for good cable management. These are some of the reasons I'm getting a new case. Cable management and build quality.
