Hey CC, any idea when the new case will hit the market for consumers? I already have a silver 840 for myself but, I'm thinking about getting another one for my son and have the inside powder coated candy red, Black exterior and Candy Red interior. or should I wait and get him the new 840 when it's released?

I can only guess, there's barely any hard info yet besides what I've already posted. If I could try to put an at least somewhat educated guess behind it, I'd say it could be out sometime between late June and early October. It's all up in the air, though, but do expect at least a sneak peek at COMPUTEX; it's definitely possible.

Are we sure the new ATCS will be an 840? Didn't there used to be other ATCS model numbers?

Given what they've been doing with the HAF, no, it likely won't be an 840. Yes, there used to be other model numbers, but that was back when it was just ATC, not ATCS.

Hi!

Since I couldn't find any info anywhere else online I thought this would be the place to ask, seeing as you all own the case in question.

The situation: I bought a refurbished case online and there were no standoffs included(!). Since I do not want to wait for weeks for them to arrive, I thought I could buy some myself.

The problem: Do any of you happen to know what size the motherboard standoffs in the ATCS are? I assumed they would have the "standard" thread size but they seem to be slightly smaller as well as longer (the hexagonal part) than the standard ones so now I am stuck with a case I cannot use. I want to make sure the backplate and gpu slots line up well so I would have to have the right height.

They are the "standard" thread size; I had no issues when testing my Rosewill's mATX standoffs in the ATCS, even after powder coating.

How can that be? I have visited several local computer retailers and out of all of them, only one of them found 2 (Two!) standoffs that would fit. This was out of something like 1000 standoffs they had in jars and boxes, meaning that over the last years or so, they must have only had 1 case with this thread size and these two were the extras...

I have 3 different standoff types from previous build and they are all wider than what the atcs 840 uses.

Are there different motherboard-tray versions of the ATCS 840? :S

Wait, will post pictures.
