Hey guys I got a question.
This may have been asked before...but here it goes.
Are there any 230mm fans that push more are than the stock ones?
And a question for Kshiraz, with your 240 radiator near at the HDD cage area.. how is that 230mm fan doing feeding the push/pull on the radiator.
Yeah after going back and fourth between the corsair cases and this.. I think this would suite my tastes more.
Very good build guys.. I may migrate for the HAF club to this club shortly.. I will still keep my haf.. and build it with a SB for my girlfriend if she wants.. haha..

NZXT makes a 200mm that screws in with only two screws but it is still very secure. It spins at 1300rpm so it is on the noisier side but flows an incredible amount of air http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835146003

Ignore the bad reviews..mine has been running flawlessly for 6 months

Yea.. are those reviews true? I'm thinking of ordering 3 and running them off 5 volts if those reviews are just bad luck people..

Am I able to fit those fans in all the spots of the ATCS840? Also again.. which fans are good to use in this case? I'm looking for the best noise/performance, don't want anything too loud nor too silent. Thanking of grabbing the Noctua NF-S12B FLX for the exhaust and bottom intake.

Should I disable the top 230MM fan nearest to the top or run it lower? I've been getting mixed comments if one should disable that

Just wanted to share some temp results i noticed after changing my 6 GT15's in Push-Pull on my Swiftech Mcr320 top rad.

I now have all my fans as intake, except a 140mm fan mounted on a 120-140 adapter on the back.

As you can see below, all my temps where lowered by quite a lot by changing the top fans to intake cold air through the rad. (Hdd's went up by 1-4c) but from 29 to 33 is not going to make any difference) Notice the huge drop on the MB and the RAM (MB went from 40c under load to 28c, and Ram from 50,1c to 36,1)

Ram temps are done by a probe that is attached to the inside of the heat-spreader so its in contact with the modules.

My first post.

I've received my ACTS 840 and slowly planning what I want to put in it and what mods that will entail. Right now I'm mostly comparing potential components to the case and each other. Lots of measuring. I've looked at a lot of ATCS 840 mod logs and posts and videos.

I just noticed that on the right side (looking from front of case, this is the rear of the cage on the MOBO side of the case) of the lower drive cage... the 3.5" one... there are six (6) female threaded inserts, probably 6-32 but haven't checked. Three on each side of the cage. Facing the right side panel.

I haven't seen anything in the CM manual or discussion about what they are for. Fans would just be up against the right side panel, so that's not likely.

Does anyone know what they were intended for?

My second post. How long before I'm not a newbie?

On the ATCS 840 there's (a rather flimsy) rear cover plate over the upper PSA mounting area (which of course is only used when the PSU is bottom mounted). Two Questions:

1) there are two (2) round holes (about 0.75" I'd guess) for routing water cooling tubes if a radiator is top mounted. These each have a rubber grommet with a slitted star pattern. On JoePhoto's photography guide, his case as elongated ones forward of the MOBO and cables are routed through them. They seem to be called gland grommets, but the only ones I've found searching modding supply sites are 4.0" diameter. Does anyone know where to get the one's in the ACTS 840 or JoePhoto's photos?

2) I'm concerned that flimsy PSU cover plate will vibrate against the heavier plate around it and cause noise. Any experience with that? I may just cut a heavier piece of aluminum sheet and mount it over the whole opening with a rubber gasket.

RE v1ral:
I have a 240 mounted on the HDD cage - I only have fans pushing through the radiator (due to thickness of the RX240) and find that airflow is OK with the 230MM in front.

RE Old Guy:
From your description it sounds like the grommets used were ones obtained from the Corsair cases. Some people have had luck contacting them.
I don't know what the threaded holes are for - I used them to help attach material I added in to cover the gap between the cages and mobo tray.
I have not noticed any noise coming from the PSU plates - my machine is for all intents and purposes silent.

Still needing an answer for my question, sorry to be a pest.

Also is there a good way to hide the gap between the MB and the hard drive cage? I don't want any cables showing between that gap. I don't have the tools or materials to cut an aluminum cover that some have, so is there another way?

Edit: I still need an answer however, here are my shots to join the club (If anyone has any tips on how to manage my cables better, then by all means post )

http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...shixx/ATCS840/

I have all 8 SATA ports populated.. so its quite a mess

Also I have troubles putting back on the sidepanel as theres a ton of wires behind the mobo tray, anyone got any tips for this?

I thought so as well, but the holes seem to allow enough clearance around the plate to not make it an issue. At least not with mine.

Also, replacement mobo tray kits back in stock:

http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...roducts_id=462

As well as replacement 5.25 covers:

Keeping an eye out for other parts updates.

I was against modding my ATCS 840 but I went and did it anyway...so if you have to...do what you got to do. Your best bet is to cut any piece of aluminum large enough to block off the middle view that separates the motherboard tray and the hard drive cage. Either that or you can simply occupy the middle area with fans where you hide your cables behind (shown below). I did my best to hide my cables (11 SATA/12 Fans/etc) and it doesn't look too bad by doing some simple blockading.
