I just thought of adding dividers between the motherboard tray and the back of the cd drive tray to hide cables dont know how i would do that though maybe acrylic.

There are drilled/tapped holes on the side of the tray frame, so you could machine a long piece of metal with an L shape and attach the short side to said frame, covering the gap.

You could also mount a 120 fan there to help hide the cables as well, possible 2 if room is available.. I am actually going to drill a hole on the side of the drive cage and route all my cables that i can down over there (fan controllers, etc) to keep them out of view

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I've had my Cooler Master ATCS 840 for almost 5 months now. I'll upload some pictures of the case as soon as possible.

I've just finished reading the whole thread and I just wanted to say thanks for all the ideas about where to put fans and which fans that are the best bang for the buck. ^^

I'm going to replace all my 120mm fans with CM R4's instead of my crappy 800RPM Noctua's and I'll try flipping the top 230mm fan closest to the 5'25 bays but I doubt It will make any difference.

I personally believe it will work only if you can direct the incoming air to the bottom of the case. If the air comes in next to 2 exhausts, I believe the air will only get recycled back out and then in again. So instead of your exhaust working to get rid of the hot air in the system, it will be pushing out the newly incoming air.

Sorry for the cable mess. I've actually removed one of the 230mm fans at the top and the bottom 120mm fan now.

The sound dampening material is AcoustiPack Ultimate. It's incredible but It adds 4 lbs to the case. :/

Nice, I plan on using some sound dampening material too. Can't imagine how quiet it would be then.

The case comes with an 8-pin power extension, but yes, I'd order some extra-long SATA cables.
