hey guys

planning to go with noctua fans for the additional fan spots. I wanted the best fan from silent group. I found the 230mm fans from ATCS 840 kind of noisy for me LOL (gonna undervolt it )

this is the one i am thinking.
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...facture=Noctua

by the way, EXmaxinZ how are the noctua fan you have?

Noisy? 230mm stock fans? You're joking, right? 0_o Well, anyway, for the additional fan spots, I'd use Scythe GentleTyphoons, Noctua's fans don't push as much air as they want you to think.

I'm not using any GTs myself, but I have a pair of Panaflo H1BXes on the back of the hard drive cage and a Scythe S-Flex G on the bottom intake, all on a Sunbeam Rheobus with the Panaflo U1BX on my Hammer cooler. Adding those 3 fans gave me a 2-3 degree C drop, and pressure is almost neutral. The noise having all 4 of those fans at about 7 volts is quite tolerable and yet there's a lot of air moving through the case.

That's just for me, though. Results vary between people.

The Noctuas are pretty bad. They just can't push enough air out of the case. But If your not doing any overclocking they should definently work.

Here is what i have done. On the Mobo drag i drilled 2 x 1/4 holes which i will mount a fan directly in fron of the GPU's. On the drive bay area I did the same for an additional fan on the back side of the drive bays. Also drilled out 2x 22mm holes for additional cable routing. You will never even see the holes when I am done, or the cables coming thru them. Now I wonder why i bothered sleeving my fan controller..lol Also, I used 2 "L" brackets to secure the fan the the mobo and drive bays. The brackets will be reversed, and they will be lamost invisible as well. Not only will it help cooling quite a bit, circulating the air better, but the one on the drive bay will hide all the "unseemly" asses of the drive bay components.

The L bracket on the fan that will be attached to the mobo will also have 1/4 spacers on it. Giving me enuff room to slide the x-fi cables and sata cables underneath to keep them out of the way and secure them. Also, will keep the x-fi from blocking any airflow.

All in all, nothing major was done. Just some simple things to make it look a ton better and to help air circulation. Besides, i have UV reactive sata cables, I ant them to shine like the sun. I HOPE it will look great. Also hope this helps anyone with possible future mods they may want done. Will probably order a 5 1/4 bay aerocool air conditioner to get in a little more air. Once done all the front bay will be full, which is really what I wanted. I like a nce busy look on my front panel.

On a good note: Just found a place here in central arkansas about 20 miles from where I live that does powder coating! So...if they offer a blue, I will get the entire case done in powder coating. As a side not, Im note sure if i am going to remember how to put it all back together...hehehe. Will keep you guys posted as always.

@ chunky chimp: I see your entire case is powder coated, is it nice and shiny?
