[Official] Cooler Master ATCS 840 Owners Club - Page 409

Ok, this is how I modded my ATCS to have some USB 3.0 ports.
For black ATCS it's simpler to find front USB 3.0 panels, but for silver ones it's a real tragedy!! biggrin.gif

I tried to mod the I/O panel, but it was quite difficult to find something that could fit in that panel. Also, USB 2.0 original ports are attached to the circuit board, and there's the problem of the release device of the I/O panel.

So, I got another way. I bought a Lian-Li PW-IS40AV85AIO I/O panel.
I removed audio and e-sata ports, totally useless for me.
Finally, I cutted the floppy front panel, and I fixed the LianLi panel in the rear.

Here the final result smile.gif

Yeah! It's either watercooling or cable management. Both is pretty tricky; but you mastered it quite well!
(Gets pretty messy in/behind the 5.25" cage.... snicker, snicker!)

Hi, folks.

Just ordered myself one of these tonight, in silver, and thought I'd say hello. This thread is one of the reasons I settled on this case. It's going to house an i5 2500K and SLI 580s under water using an XSPC Raystorm and XSPC Razor blocks. I love the understated, classic looks and all aluminium construction of this case. It just seemed to tick more boxes for me than something like an 800D or Switch 810, and at £132 ($213 for those of you in the US) delivered, was cheaper than both.

I'll be sure to get some pictures of the finished product up, but in the mean time, are there any tips or tricks, anything to look out for, etc. with this case?

Cheers thumb.gif

Hello all, sort of newbie owner here, but long time PC gamer and system builder. I've got a beauty of a custom painted ATCS 840 but it had old guts and I've moved my main gaming components inside. The AMD FX-8150 with AMD water cooler is getting an upgrade to an 8350 and a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme, but that's where trouble sets in. Since I got this second hand, I didn't get the top mount brackets to swap out the two 230mm fans with the three 120's and I don't see these parts on the CM store either. Any suggestions where I can order them, or where I can order custom made ones? Or does anyone have extras they want to part with?

Canada ain't the easiest place to ship to, especially from Europe!
For two bear paws I'd consider......

If you aren't too incapable, just go to your local hardware store and take a bit of thin plywood or balsa wood.
Cut to size and clamp to the top extrusion. Mesh slide-out obviously removed.
Mark the holes for drilling, or drill directly.

Remove and lay out the three fans (or the radiator). Repeat the hole drilling process.

Now you have 2 options
Cut to size, paint and use,
Or, cut to size and use as reference for cutting from a sheet of aluminium.
Done.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks mru, that's probably the best solution. I'd love to get it cut out of aluminum - I can do wood but would much rather finish it in matching metal smile.gif
