Alright guys, need your opinion on something (BARE WITH ME ATCS 840 OWNERS!!!!):
PIC or it never happened first!
My thrusty old ATCS840 house my latest system in sig. So I'll keep using it for the next few years.
Now, some modifications I made to it:
-I removed the 2 x 230mm exhaust fans and replaced them with 3 X 120 AEROCOOL RED DEVILS.
-I mounted my H100i rad (in PULL mode ONLY I had no choice for MOBO and top fans clearance) on a board of plexiglass that sits on the upper rail/frame. It doesn't block all case heat to reach the exhaust fans, because the plexi is not full lenght, but still, it restricts the air flow up a little and warm air passes thru the RAD.
-I'M PLANNING TO GO SLI AGAIN
I always ran my two (just one in pic) MSI 560TI TFII cards (blows air inside case) with the "pictured down below" air duct mounted with fan PUSHING air IN the case.
My reasoning, I provide fresh air directly from outside the case right on the cards to cool them more and push the warm air away from the cards...
Pic from hardware canucks.
Now that I use a H100i close loop rad to OC my 4770k, I don't want to add much heat inside the case.
So I'm considering either 2 X Nvidia cards with BLOWER-STYLE fans OR Two Asus DirectCUII /MSI TF IV cards WITH THE AIR DUCT.
what should I do to keep temps low on my H100i?
I prefer aftermarket heatsinks on my cards, they cool better and less noisier.
option 1: buy two blower-style cards
option 2: buy two aftermarket-style fan cards and use air duct to push fresh air inside
option 3: buy two aftermarket-style fan cards and use air duct to pull warm air outsideEdited by delavan - 9/1/13 at 7:01am
