what up ladies

I have been working on my case this few days; due to the intense heat from this ****** hot summer. If you remember I have a intel i7 overlocked to 3.6GHZ and was worried about the high temperature I got from it. (like around 58-60C when idle and go up to 70 when I start to game).

As I read from this forum for ideas and suggestions in improving the cooling, many of you suggested reversing the 230mm (that is closest to the HD cage) or turning it off.

I come up with an idea and moved that 230mm fan to the DVD rom area to push the air to my heat sink area. It sure did surprised me. Now my cpu idle at around 49 to 52C and each core is around 47C.

I am not sure did I do anything wired but it sure did work for me

How is everyone feeling about the new competition on the block from Corsair? (Obsidian Series 800D)

Pre-orders now available in the UK.

Love the look of the case, stock window is very nice compared to the ATCS', and cable management looks very easy.

That Corsair case is a joke. It is made of steel except for the front. $300 and it isn't aluminum? Motherboard tray is not removable on that $300 case? Airflow doesn't look good, only one intake fan (at least you can have a push/pull setup with it) which would be at the bottom. It isn't as good as the ATCS 840 for water cooling either. On the Corsair case you're limited to one big rad, a 360 rad. On the ATCS 840, you can have a 360, and two 240 rads running at the same time with no mods.

If the Corsair case was $150, it may be worth a look except the HAF 932 tramples it in almost every way too. The Corsair Obsidian 800D is a joke in my eyes, and not a very funny one. Cable management is the only thing it has going for it.

Haven't looked at it in detail yet, waiting for a review, just saw the pre-order price and thought that it puts it up against CM's ATCS 840.

Maybe the airflow is bad in order to encourage you to buy their new H50 cooler?

Fans to consider; another GELID Wing 12? They're great by the way, have had mine for a while and they've performed brilliantly.

Other contenders; Scythe Typhoon, Akasa Apache, and the Nexus PWM Series Real Silent Case Fan. The Nexus has the best specs, though I'd look for reviews before buying, I've seen a few unhappy customers online. A lot of people would recommend the Typhoon (or Scythe's S-Flex).

I'm pretty sure a top of the line air cooler will beat the Corsair H50. A 120 rad won't be enough once you start overclocking. I had a similar cooler (iBuyPower IBP-Z001) and upgraded to a Prolimatech Megahalems and dual Scythe Slipstream 120mm x 25mm fans (1900 RPM/110 CFM). Max load went down about 10 degrees Celsius.

1900 RPM/110 CFM - how loud are they?

Agree with you about the H50 by the way.
