Do what I did. Put your PSU on top with the fan facing down, after removing both 230mm top fans. Replace the front 230mm fan with two 120mm fans (I still have to do this, take the HDD cage out and drill holes so you can use the fans). Add two 120mm fans on the other side of the HDD cage, two on the bottom (one would go on the PSU mount, easy to zip tie), replace the stock rear fan, and use a 120mm fan in the external air duct.

@ boredgunner
I like your idea but does your psu have to work harder to stay cool?
Yeah I'll think ill remove all coolermaster fans now. Alot of work to get the front fan out?

@ Chunky_Chimp
Thx for the heads up on the cpu hs fan, yeah i think a higher rpm fan would be improve temps.

So what i'm think atm is to get:
2x 120mm Scythe S-FLEX F (1 for CPU HS and 1 for the intake at the bottom)
5x 120mm Scythe S-FLEX E (2 for HDD cage and 1 for CM 120mm fan, 1 at the top rear over cpu and 1 for the gpu vent)

I think i'll start with those cos in around a month when ati's new cards come out i'll be gettin a new gpu and can check temps and see what extra fans i need

The 120mm PWM fan on my PSU probably does spin a bit faster, it is surprisingly loud. But it won't overheat or anything - it's just like any case with a top mounted PSU. Unless your PSU is known to overheat under normal circumstances, it will be fine.

You've got to love this!

I like the extra intake fan on the bottom and the extra 2 in the drive bays, you have positive air pressure now.
But I think with the asus P6TD it's best to have the cooler air flow up, to cool the northbridge. So it would be best to put the psu on the bottom and a 120mm fan above the cpu hs.
Mad to order it now
Goin to tomorrow

I have a CM Hyper 212 Plus CPU HSF and my case is a CM ATCS-840. Should I position the HSF horizontally exhausting to the rear fan or vertically exhausting to the ceiling fan?
Either way is fine, but I'd go for the rear fan. The top 230mm fans suck, and the one closest to the front of the case does more harm than good. Just use a PSU 120mm fan (or larger) as a top exhaust fan, PSU is best on top.

With the PSU on top and the fan facing down, it will act as a top exhaust fan (unless it has an 80mm front or rear fan). Then you can have dual bottom intakes, which adds positive air pressure to the case (which helps GPUs exhaust air easier), and more airflow to the video cards.

Yeah it's good to have the psu on the top but its not necessary if u have more cfm in than out.
By removing the top 2 230mm fans
so out
1 120mm scythe f-flex 1200rpm on the top 49 cfm
1 120mm scythe f-flex 1200rpm on the rear 49 cfm
and in
1 230mm CM 1700 rpm on the front 110 cfm
1 120mm scythe f-flex 1600rpm bottom 64 cfm
The only unknown that i cant work out is the resistance of the filters and the hole on the top of the case would have to be blocked off.

Could try put 1 of the top 230mm 2700rpm fans in the front but this could be loud i don't know or like you said to remove the stock front fan and put in 2 120mm fans (like a 1600rpm).
Fan control or under volt the fans to help balance the pressure.
I don't want to block up drive bays with fans and i think the psu would have better temps on the bottom.
