http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/coo...est-case-fan/5.Woulda went with Yate Loon's cause of the reviews and because of the blue color matches my motherboard Asus P6X58 but f*** it

Couple Questions
Will I run into any issues hooking 4/5 of these upto NZXT Sentry LX?
Whats the best setup?
2x Prolima Megalahem
1x Intake
1x Outake
I live in Central florida temps here 80F avg
The fans are about 1watt apiece. SO you could hook up around 3-4 per channel without a problem.

not sure why you keep saying that about one of the best case fans available

Noctua is the best, but which one is roght for you?

heres a good review that compares both s12b and p12.

http://hardwarebistro.com/index.php?...ing-Fan-Review

where the p12 is all about static pressure and tight finned heatsinks and radiators, the s12b moves more air with less noise. The s12 is preferred for a case fan or wider finned heatsinks and radiators. they are perfect fans for my application. by no means are these fans less powerfull just a different priority and perform better at lower fan speeds. that means i can go super silent with my fan controller.

read the conclusion in this review

http://baltichwlabs.com/reviews/67-n...lx-review.html

Conclusion

The NF-S12BFLX fan is another great Noctua company product, which i would recommend as first choice for case fan. Thanks to speed adaptors you can choose suitable noise/performance ratio for your ears. Today we've compared NF-S12B FLX fan with Gelid Solutions Wing 12 fan. After results comparison I can say, that Noctua has again produced very silent fan, which offers one of the best performance/noise ratio in case fan class.
I thought the P12 would be better or is designed more specifically for being a heatstink fan
but these are five review test that Ive seen were the S12 FLX gives lower temps on a True-120 compared to a P12.

P12 vs NF-S12B FLX - comparison
http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/ind
http://gilgameshreviews.com/index.
http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews
http://performancehardware.net/rev
http://hardwarebistro.com/index.ph

I also found some reviews which showed the NF-S12B FLX having 1200rpm producing more air/CFM at a lower dBA then the NF-P12 at 1300rpm, and NF-S12B FLX again has more CFM and lower dBA over the NF-P12 when both are at 900rpm.

Looks great...I noticed you have two fans pushing on the megahalem. Is there enough clearance for two 38mm fans for a push-pull setup? Or is the 25mm back exhaust going to prevent you from doing it.

I'm about to pull the trigger on my upgrade...I have my Megahalem coming soon in the mail...two of my San Ace fans are sitting on top of my case right now. With no school or work today...I might head out to Micro Center in a couple of hours to pick up the i7 920. Last but not least...order my motherboard and memory online as well as my BlackMagic Intensity Pro that I'm going to use for video capturing on my PS3.

I'm hoping this computer upgrade would last me 3+ years since I already knew my first build would only last about two years with it being a mid-ranged PC. Going to be used for gaming, video editing, video capturing, HTPC, and of course anime

Thanks. Yea I can't seem to get a pull in there like I had on my 902. It can fit but it would create so much turbulence between that fan and the exhaust it would be pointless. I decided to just got with a push. That exhaust is a silverstone fm121 rated at 114cfm so its more than capable of pulling some air. I didn't really noticed any difference with a push/pull setup opposed to just a push setup anyway. Good luck.

Prospective buyer q: Is there enough room to fit 4 120mm fans in place of the 230mm fans? Both top and front?

I know that they'll be off the vent by 5mm (or maybe 10mm on the top) on each side, but that's fine imo... as long as there is actually enough room to mount them (240mm) then I'd be happy. I ask because I'd rather not use the CM 230mm fan and put in some nice 120mm fans, undervolted for silent use.

Sort of a difficult question, but I think I follow... the top can fit 3 fans and the front can fit 2 fans. If you try to fit more than that they'll be blocked by the top-forward section.

Oops, not what I meant. Hrm... hypothetically if I had three 240mm sized fans, would I be able to mount them in place of the 230mm front and top fans?

I have no idea, honestly. You'd have to find out the hard way, but I don't think they'd fit; it depends on where the mounting holes are and how big the frame is compared to the blade length (seeing as CM's stock 230mm fans in fact have 180mm blades... wonder why).
