Hey guys what's the best way to clean the outside of the case? I tried to wipe it down but it tends to get white crap everywhere(paper towel). I'm also weary of using water on the finish. I'm not sure what kind of finish it is. Also do you guys have problems with the negative air pressure taking in air from the big hole in the back(beside the pci expansion)? I'm thinking about putting some panty hose over that hole because the way my setup is I have no room for that extra exhaust expansion.

Couple more questions.

How often do you guys change the dust filter for the psu? Being that I have to take off that bottom fan to get to it, it's sort of pain in the ass to get to the psu filter. Just trying to get a good idea of what to expect.

Are these dust filters washer safe? Can I just run cool water over them? Thanks guys.

Yea...the ATCS 840 attracts a lot of oily finger prints and then some...so whenever you have friends/family near your computer...tell them hands off

I use a dry cloth to clean the outside (same thing that's used for most LCD screens, camera lenses, and eye glasses). If it's a little tough to remove...then go ahead and splash a little water on the cloth but be sure to keep a part of it dry to dry it off...or have a second dry cloth ready. You might leave a little water streak but it should go away in a couple of seconds. Don't use any paper towels (as you already noticed it leaves dry white streaks). I'm not really sure why but maybe if you use some type of metal cleaner/shiner with it...it won't leave the mark. But I don't recommend it since I'm not sure if any chemical might remove the black finish on the case.

I think this case suppose to have negative air pressure as there's more exhaust than intake...but I know what you mean about that extra vent on the side of the expansion slots. It was intended to help exhaust hot air when you install the GPU exhaust...however I did have an old computer case that would actually intake from the small vent by the expansion slots for some reason as I noticed dust build up around the area. Putting panty hose around that area may be a good idea.

I seriously wouldn't worry to much about the PSU dust filter (maybe clean after every three months). Unless it's used 100% almost 24/7 you should leave it alone. I think Cooler Master understands that concept too which is probably why it seems harder to clean than the other filters (have to remove bottom fan to remove PSU filter). The PSU should be efficient enough to cool by itself which is why new cases these days have the PSU on the bottom as the ambient air outside of the cases is enough to cool the PSU with no additional cooling needed (I have yet to see any people water cool a PSU ). The other filters should be cleaned probably once a month if it is really interfering with temperatures/overclock. If not...then I wouldn't worry about them too much either...so maybe you can clean them as often as your PSU dust filter. They should all be washer safe (cold water is fine unless they are infected by nasty bacteria ) with them being easily removable and made of plastic/mesh. Just be sure they're dry before putting them back in .

Yep. I don't think there's been a genuinely unsatisfied owner on this forum so far. Any plans for powder coating anytime soon? It really does look amazing in matte black, or even just flat black as mine is.

as far as the cleaning the case goes use a microfiber cloth like the ones used on car paint. soak some water into it and sqeeze it out then run along the brush direction of aluminum and it will clean the hell out of it.

for the dust filters just run cool water over it on both sides and air dry it.

for the psu filter i just flipped my psu since i cant easily get the filter out with a fan installed on the bottom.

hope this helps!

I actually only have one real complaint about the case and that is the PSU fan filter. If you have a fan in the bottom you then have to remove that fan to be able to pull the filter out.

That is literally my only complaint.

I can say I was slightly dissatisfied with the ATSC 840. But that's just because of lack of HDD space.

But I find that to be an annoying feature about many Full Tower cases. Lian-Li usually does a great job at it, but they have my complaints on airflow and what not.

How's it lacking in hard drive space? If you need more than 6 drives, then you can always use an NAS box...

Yeah, that's a problem, as well, they should have made that filter external like the one in front of it. I mean I did list a balanced overview of pros and cons in the OP, and in all honesty the cons are overpowered by the pros.

NAS boxes are actually pretty exspensive, unless you buy a case and make it yourself.
Though, this is an enthusiast case, so I would like to see atleast 7 if not 8 HDD slots.
But that's just my opinion.

A close to perfect case to me is the PC-V2010, though, it needs to be modded for a 120mm side panel fan. An extra intake up front. And exhuast up top.

Lian-Li has beautiful designs IMO, but the need to buy extra parts to make the case usable for who it is marketed too is just way silly to me.

ATSC-840 is a beautiful case for the price though.

Yeah, IMO it'd be better with 3 5.25" slots and 10 hard drive bays.
